Movement in Sound
Drawing heavily from his classical training and an eclectic range of musical influences, George’s improvisations and compositions take on a multitude of styles, textures, and moods. His work with dancers and choreographers has had a direct influence on his music, as he uses lyricism, rhythm, and phrasing to capture their movement in sound.
Listen
Because I spend so much time in ballet classes improvising accompaniment to each exercise, many of my improvisations slowly solidify into compositions over time. Above are a few of my compositions that have come from playing for ballet class; most are named after the ballet exercise the piece of music grew out of.
